The goal? To delight in all that God is… to worship.

The main mechanism by which we “behold” his greatness? The mind.

We must train our mind to behold and treasure the glory of God.

Phillipians 4 says:

8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me–put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Try this. When you wake up in the morning, don’t first check your email, voice or text messages, or Facebook updates. Every one of these things will “take your mind” elsewhere.

Instead, work to accomplish Colossians 3 as soon as possible, every morning… before your feet hit the ground.

1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Col. 3:1-2)
