Hello my name is Jesse Antelman. I was born and raised in Des Moines, IA. My current role in leadership is to oversee and lead the Worship and Tech Arts of The Salt Company. The Salt Company is the college ministry of Cornerstone Church here in Ames. I also play a role in the leadership of our songwriting artists called Anthem and am a songwriter as well.

I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa with believing parents. I feel blessed to have grown up in a solid bible teaching church and also attended AWANAS where I memorized verses and learned the Bible. I accepted Christ when I was 5 years old when I asked my mom how to get to heaven. Since then I have grown in my understanding the the Bible and grow in my relationship with Christ. When I was 12 I went to a summer camp and God really used worship and His word to move me and change me. That summer I understood the grace, love and sacrifice of Christ and what that means for my life. I decided to live my life for Christ and to follow Him.

I started playing guitar and singing when I was a Junior in High School. I grew up in the church and was raised in a believing household and was motivated to learn to play and sing by watching our youth group “praise team”. I have always loved worship music and I wanted to be able to worship on my own the songs that I have come to love. After about a year of playing they asked me to step up and lead the youth band. I felt so unprepared but I accepted. I then lead for the next two years there. Then I went to a bible college and took some classes for a year on worship leading and had more opportunities to lead and develop my skills and heart for worship. After that year I decided to go to Iowa State and got plugged in doing Freshman Group worship. After two years of leading the freshman group they asked me to come do Salt part time. After 2 years of doing Salt part time they then asked me to come do Salt full time once I graduated from ISU. Once I graduated from ISU with a BS in Kinesiology I came on full time with Salt Company and have been loving it ever since.

I’m excited to see how I can continue to serve, to then train up others to serve, and for them to someday even take my place. Thanks for reading this and please pray that God continues to use me to accomplish His will.
